JOIN THE CHURCH

Membership at St. John's is open to any person who has been baptized, has been confirmed, or has made public confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In accordance with the Gospel covenant which binds into a unity "faithful people of all ages, tongues and races," membership is open to all without regard to race or color.

Those with membership in another congregation may join by letter of transfer from their former congregation. Those who do not belong to any church as well as those who have not been baptized are encouraged to take private instruction with the pastor and elders.

New members meetings are held several times a year, usually following Sunday morning worship. At these meetings, usually a series of 3 gatherings, those considering becoming members of St. John's will become acquainted with the basic beliefs and history of the United Church of Christ, the members of consistory, and the opportunites for service and growth at St. John's. Following the new members meetings, a reception of new members will be included during the Sunday morning worship.
